RESTAURANT: Cracker Barrel Store #149, Denton, TX

Cracker Barrel Store #149

RESTAURANT: Cracker Barrel Store #149

LOCATION: Denton, Texas (888-678-5845)

ONE OF THE DATES WE VISITED THE RESTAURANT: 10-1-08

PRICE RANGE: Low to moderate

FAVORITE FOOD: Breakfast

We like the scrambled eggs and the over-easy eggs with colby cheese. (You must ask for the cheese.) Also the bacon and the turkey sausage are spectacular. The biscuits are irresistible, and so is the gravy. We load our grits with black pepper. (We're spicemouths, but I believe that one of us has move to a new level: firemouth. When he eats breakfast at Cracker Barrel any time of the day, he doses it with enormous amounts of hot sauce. I must agree that hot sauce is good on scrambled eggs.)

FOOD WE LIKED LEAST: If it's breakfast at Cracker Barrel there is nothing we don't like.

MOST OUTSTANDING FEATURE: I cannot decide whether it is the free-flowing coffee or the apple butter available on request.

SPECIALS: Vary—call for current ones

APPEARANCE: Clean. The restroom showed evidence of heavy traffic.

SERVER: Trey B.

SERVICE: Outstanding

UNIQUE FEATURES: Checker Boards.

COMPLIMENTARY RECIPE: I wish I knew how they make some of their dishes, but we have not asked them yet.

COMMENTS: Good food, we'll keep checking the Cracker Barrels throughout the nation. So far I have not found a substandard one.
