Current Evaluation Howard Johnson's: Maxwell's Restaurant, Ruston, LA

RESTAURANT: Maxwell's Restaurant,

LOCATION: Howard Johnson's Motel, North Service Rd, East, Ruston, LA

ONE OF THE DATES WE VISITED THE RESTAURANT: 7-19-07

PRICE RANGE: Low to moderate

FAVORITE FOOD: Hamburger and French Fries

OTHER GREAT FOODS: Sadly, nothing

FOOD WE LIKED LEAST: The unsweet tea tasted stale and the turkey sandwich on croissant was very mediocre.

MOST OUTSTANDING FEATURE: N/A

SPECIALS:

APPEARANCE: Our table was not thoroughly cleaned; the paper placemats had been previously used and had grease spots on them; the sugar packets had coffee stains on them; some of the silverware was not properly cleaned; and the sweetner container had chunks of black material in the bottom as though it had been months since it had been cleaned.

SERVER: N/A

SERVICE: Adequate

UNIQUE FEATURES: Half the items on the menu were unavailable. They had only the most basic things.

COMPLIMENTARY RECIPE: N/A

COMMENTS: When Mr. Johnny Maxwell owned this motel and restaurant, it had excellent food and service. When he sold it last year, we noticed the quality and taste of the food had deteriorated. We went back yesterday to see if things had improved--they have gotten worse. We will not be going back to Maxwell's unless the ownership changes.
