RESTAURANT: Gabbeaux's Bayles Landing Restaurant, West Monroe, LA

RESTAURANT: Gabbeaux's Bayles Landing Restaurant; 318-322-8278 (call for hours)

LOCATION: 113 S. Riverfront St, West Monroe, LA 71291

ONE OF THE DATES WE VISITED THE RESTAURANT: 9-18, 26-06

PRICE RANGE: Low to moderate

FAVORITE FOOD: Blackened Tuna LaFitte; Blackened Red Snapper; Their "to-die-for-chocolate-dessert," New Orleans Mudslide; Seafood Bisque; and Crawfish Etouffee

OTHER GREAT FOODS: Crawfish Jambalaya; Bread Pudding; Crawfish Poboys; Stuffed Grilled Catfish (on the lunch)

FOOD WE LIKED LEAST: Gabbeaux's doesn't have any mediocre food!

MOST OUTSTANDING FEATURE: Their New Orleans style and inspired food AND service are both outstanding.

SPECIALS: Vary—call for current ones

APPEARANCE: Clean but ethnic "N' awlins" decor

SERVER: Kym

SERVICE: Excellent. Certainly the other members of the waitstaff are as helpful and gracious, but Kym is SO GOOD, we call ahead just to be sure she will be there when we want to dine at Gabbeaux's! All the staff are such fine people, AND they are drug free and sober. . . AND that DOES make an important difference.

UNIQUE FEATURES: Gabbeaux's is simply an excellent place for casual dining.

COMPLIMENTARY RECIPE: N/A

COMMENTS: Great food and great service; we'll be back again and again! We are told the owners are planning expansion and remodeling which will allow them to serve more customers that GREAT food. We are also told they will NOT be cheapening the recipes. Check out their website www.gabbeauxs.com
