RESTAURANT: Humpty's Family Restaurant, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

RESTAURANT: Humpty's

LOCATION: 205 Scenic Drive S, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

TELEPHONE #: 403-327-7123

ONE OF THE DATES WE VISITED THE RESTAURANT: 07-25-05

PRICE RANGE: The prices were low to moderate for food, but we found the drinks pricey. We're unaccustomed to paying $2.10 for a soft drink, $2.25 for a glass of milk, and $2.35 for iced tea.

FAVORITE FOOD: The breakfast foods are served with Western toast. The flax bread toast is our favorite Humpty's food.

OTHER FAVORITE FOODS: Pan scramblers--Western, Mexican, Canadian, Vegetarian, Meatlovers, Cajun, Pulled pork. Each scrambler is served on a bed of savory
diced potatotoes.
Splash omelettes with shrimp, seafood, green oins, and Hollandaise sauce.

FAVORITE DRINK: The iced tea was some of the best in the world! It had a delicate lemon taste, and it was slightly sweet.

MOST OUTSTANDING FEATURE: The staff

SPECIALS: "Humpty Bucks can make you go loonie," is the caption on the $1.00 coupons Humpty's distributes. On Tuesday nights Seniors over 55 can eat for 20%
less. From 5 to 10 pm, two can dine for $12.99 There are daily lunch specials and dinner specials.

APPEARANCE: Clean

SERVERS: Jennifer, Suzanne
Jennifer, a very pleasant and attentive waitress, made me feel at home.
Suzanne was not only an outstanding server of food but also a person with great compassion for others.

SERVICE: Outstanding

UNIQUE FEATURES: The perogies, which are popular throughout Western Canada, were interesting. Perogies resemble dumplings that have been cooked al dente and stuffed with something yummy.

Quotation from http://www.polkafestperogies.com/:"Perogies are an ethnic food that originated with the people of Eastern European heritage and are most popular among the Polish, Ukranian, Czech, Slovakian, and Eastern German (Prussian) nationalities."

COMPLIMENTARY RECIPE: Humpty's did not give me the recipe for perogies, but the staff told me that their perogies are made of potato dough like potato pancakes and stuffed with cheddar. After being dropped in really hot water and boiled, they are fried with onions. Then they are served with sour cream.

COMMENTS: Visit http://collardpatch.blogspot.com/ for a collection of recipes for perogies.
